The Ohio Association of County Behavioral Health Authorities Foundation, in partnership with the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, will host Ohio’s 2019 Opiate Conference: Promoting Solutions for Substance Use Disorders Across Ohio on June 10-11, 2019. This will be Ohio’s tenth annual opiate conference taking place at the Hyatt Regency in Columbus, Ohio.

Sharon Parsons: Personal and Practice Implications of Substance Use

Drawing from her own experience, Dr. Parsons will share the signs and symptoms of opioid abuse and help attendees learn about addiction and how as prescribers we potentially contribute to it. Dr. Parsons will delve into what to look for in teens and young adults in and out of the office. Dr. Parsons will also share a few of the signs and symptoms of other drug uses and how she has dealt with it in her office. Dr. Parsons will share some of the services available for families and for professionals. Dr. Parsons will share what Ohio is doing to educate and fight denial and stigma.
