Research shows that medication should be a primary treatment for opioid use disorder, but why are so few teens and young adults getting care?

Virtually all addictions begin during adolescence. And nearly 6 million people between the ages of 12 and 25 in the United States have a substance abuse problem, according to the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services.
